2023 Cabernet Franc
2023 Cabernet Franc
Tasting Notes
2023 was widely considered the best vintage in 20 years and certainly our best Cabernet Franc to date. The nose leans into classic Cabernet Franc aromas of fresh raspberry, rhubarb, rose petals, black pepper, with a hint of cassis and bell pepper. This was a late harvest year but with balanced acidity and restrained alcohol. Two years in French Oak adds telltale tobacco and softens the palette.Vineyard Notes
2023 has a strong chance of going down as one of the best vintages across the board in the last 20 years in the North Coast of California. Our first wet winter in four years saturated the soils and put us two weeks behind right from the start. As a result, many wines were picked late in the season with the worry of rain, which never came, and instead we had grapes with beautiful flavor development via extended hang time.Pairings
Silky in body but intense in aromatics this wine can be paired with an array of dishes such as salmon, truffle risotto, osso buco, or an onion galette.| Download Wine Notes | |
